Online whiteboard, open and ready

A free whiteboard with an infinite canvas that starts the moment the page loads. No sign-up, no upload: draw, add sticky notes, then export a PNG or PDF.

A whiteboard that behaves like the one on the wall

Markers come in six colours and four widths, and the highlighter lays translucent ink over what you’ve already drawn. Rectangles, ellipses, lines and arrows snap square or to 45° when you hold Shift. Sticky notes grow to fit what you type, and the text tool writes in a handwriting face so the board still feels like a board.

The canvas doesn’t end. Pan with two fingers, the scroll wheel or the hand tool, and zoom from 10% to 800%. Tap the zoom percentage to fit everything back on screen. Want to know what’s going on under the hood? See how an infinite canvas works, with a live camera you can drag.

Pick your paper

Switch the background between plain, dots, grid, ruled, handwriting lines and isometric, or flip the whole board to a dark chalkboard. There’s a dedicated graph paper board and an online blackboard if you want to start that way.

Working together without accounts

SketchWith is a single-device board by design: nothing leaves your browser, so there’s no server that could show other people’s cursors live. For a meeting, share your screen, or use Share as image to drop the board straight into Zoom, Teams or Slack chat. For async work, Save board file produces a small .sketchwith file a teammate can open, extend and send back.

Questions people ask

Is this online whiteboard really free with no sign-up?

Yes. The whiteboard loads instantly and every drawing tool, the infinite canvas and PNG/PDF export work without an account, an email address or a trial. There is nothing to upgrade to.

Where is my board saved?

In your own browser, using localStorage. It autosaves as you draw and is still there when you come back on the same device and browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server. To move a board to another device, use Export → Save board file and open it there.

Can several people draw on the same board at once?

Not live. Real-time co-editing needs a server that relays every stroke between people, and SketchWith deliberately has no server-side storage or accounts. To collaborate, share the board as an image in your call chat, or send the .sketchwith board file so a teammate can open, add to and send it back.

How do I export the whiteboard as a PDF or PNG?

Tap the export button (the arrow at the top right) and choose Download PNG or Download PDF. The export crops tightly around everything you drew, at up to 2400 pixels on the long side, with the paper background included.

Does it work on a phone or iPad?

Yes. Draw with one finger or an Apple Pencil, pan with two fingers and pinch to zoom. Coalesced pointer events are used where the browser supports them, so fast pencil strokes stay smooth.

What does "infinite canvas" mean here?

The board has no edges. You can pan in any direction and zoom from 10% to 800%, so a brainstorm can keep growing sideways instead of being squeezed onto one page. Our explainer shows exactly how the camera maths works.
